Yolanda Garza, born on February 5, 1955, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She lived a life filled with purpose, compassion, and devotion to those around her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Enrique “Kike” Garza; her loving sister, Bertha O. Salinas; and numerous extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory. She is preceded in death by her sister, Graciela Olivarez, her nephews, Aaron Salinas, Evan Salinas, and her niece E.J. Salinas who welcomed her home with open arms.
Yolanda dedicated 38 years of her life to education, proudly serving as a teacher with P.S.J.A. Her passion for teaching and unwavering dedication to her students left a lasting impact on countless lives. She was admired not only for her commitment to education but also for her kindness, patience, and genuine care for others.
Outside of her work, Yolanda found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed dining out at her favorite restaurants, shopping, and traveling. These moments brought her happiness and allowed her to create treasured memories with her loved ones.
Yolanda will be remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, and the love she shared so freely. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm at Rivera Hillcrest Funeral Home,1300 N. I-69C, in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be Friday, March 27, 2026 at 10:00 am at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Services will conclude at the church. Cremation will follow at a later time.
