William Floyd Gibbs, born on the 24th of January, 1981, in Memphis, Tennessee, was a beacon of love and kindness whose light ceased to shine on the 29th of March, 2025, in Park Ridge, Illinois. His life was a testament to the power of positivity and the strength of the human spirit.
William is survived by his dear wife Maricela Gibbs, his step children; Michelle, Crystal, Ashley and Isaiah, daughter; Elizza Gibbs, son-in-laws, his two wonderful grandchildren that he adored, Alethea and Nathaniel, and his brother Felix Gibbs.
He is proceeded in passing by his parents Felix Bernard Gibbs and Elizabeth Malone.
William, known affectionately as Will to his friends and family, dedicated a decade of his life to serving as a respiratory therapist at Saint Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. His commitment to his profession was not just a career but a calling, as he touched the lives of countless individuals with his expertise and compassionate care.
Will's zest for life was contagious. He was a man who lived with purpose and passion, embodying the qualities of being loving, kind, and thoughtful in every action. A true fan of the Tennessee Titans, his enthusiasm for football was only paralleled by his love for travel. Alongside his beloved wife, Maricela Gibbs, he explored new horizons, embracing the joy of discovery as a travel respiratory therapist. This shared journey of adventure and service strengthened their bond and enriched their lives immeasurably.
On his time off he looked forward to coming home to spend time with his step children. which he called his own.
William had never traveled until he met his wife Maricela during a COVID assignment where they met. In their four years together William expressed how much he was enjoying his life and thank his wife for giving him the best years of his life. Together, Will and Maricela found joy in staying active, often exercising side by side. Their partnership was a beautiful dance of mutual support and shared interests, a source of inspiration to all who knew them.
