Sophie Sky Uresti

Sophie Sky Summer, a little girl whose zest for life was as bright and boundless as her name suggests, has danced her way to the stars. Born on December 8, 2020, in the warm and welcoming city of Edinburg, Texas, Sophie was a burst of joy in the lives of everyone who knew her, until her untimely departure on November 21, 2024, in the very place she first opened her eyes to the world.

Grandma and Grandpa's house was Sophie's personal palace, a kingdom where she reigned supreme, lavishing in their love and the simple, pure joy of their company. Sophie was the life of the living room dance floor, waltzing, twirling, and giggling her way into everyone's hearts with a rhythm that was all her own.

Sophie Sky Uresti was the embodiment of love, a spirited soul, and an adventurer at heart. She was a happy little girl who left a trail of laughter and memories that will sparkle in the Edinburg sky forever.

Sophie is survived by her mom, Wendy Rivera; grandparents, Adalberto and Magali Colunga; three uncles, Andres Rivera, Mark Colunga, and Larry Colunga; two aunts, Sandy Cortes and Amanda Colunga; numerous cousins, Victoria, Amanda, Shelby, Scarlet, Melanie, Jeremiah, Zachary, and Summer. 

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 6 p.m. Celebration of Life, Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Rivera at Hillcrest Funerals and Cremations. Interment will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 29, 2024 at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna, Texas. 

Funeral services are under the direction of Rivera at Hillcrest Funerals and Cremations.
