Rosalio Gamez, born on November 28, 1953, in Mexico, passed away on June 9, 2026, in McAllen, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of strength, devotion, and spirited love for his family and the life he built.
Rosalio lived a life marked by perseverance. Throughout his life, he faced challenges with courage and dignity, and for almost five years he fought cancer with remarkable resilience. Even in difficult times, he remained steadfast in his faith, his love for his family, and his appreciation for the simple joys that made life meaningful.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan de Dios Gamez and Jacinta Hernandez, and by his son, Juan Jose Gamez.
Rosalio is survived by his wife, Estela Gonzalez, who stood beside him with love and devotion. He also leaves behind his children, Rosalio Gamez Jr., Marlen Toscano and her husband Eliseo, Roberto Guerra and his wife Janet, Vicente Guerra and his wife Janeina, Jessica Guerra and her husband Francisco Barrientos Jr., and Alberto Guerra and his wife Brenda Garcia. .
He enjoyed welding and barbecue, pastimes that reflected both his skill and his love for bringing people together. Whether working with his hands or preparing a meal for family and friends, Rosalio found joy in creating, sharing, and contributing. These interests were part of the way he expressed care, and they became cherished memories for those fortunate enough to spend time with him.
Rosalio was also a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and he followed his team with enthusiasm and loyalty. His love for the game was one more reflection of his spirited nature and his ability to find enjoyment in everyday moments.
Rosalio Gamez will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, June 15, 2026 at Rivera Hillcrest Funeral Home,1300 N.I-69C from 10:00 AM to 9:00 pm with a rosary at 6:00 pm followed by a prayer service at 7:00 pm
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 11:30 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow to Val Verde Memorial Park cemetery in Donna
