Roberto Calles Obituary

Roberto "Bobby" Calles, a cherished brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, was called home to be with the Lord on December 6, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on April 23, 1949, in the bustling city of Chicago, Illinois, Bobby was a beacon of love and generosity throughout his life, touching the hearts of all who knew him.

Bobby's early years were spent in the loving company of his parents, Ricardo Calles Sr. and Herminia Mosqueda Calles, both of whom predeceased him, as did his brother Ricardo Calles Jr. and sister Rose Marie Lopez. His spirit is carried on by his surviving sister, Rachel Calles-Marez, his adoring children, Julie Marie Calles and Robert Ernest Calles, and his precious grandchildren, Cassandra Perez, Adrian Javier Garza, Jacob Nicholas Peralez, Desiree N Calles, Vida Calles, Robert Anthony Calles, and James T. Calles. His legacy continues to bloom in the lives of his great-grandchildren, Madison Peralez, Isaac Banda, Camila Garza, Andrew Peralez, and Emryn Peralez, as well as his three nieces, one nephew, and a host of extended family and friends who were blessed to feel the warmth of his love.

Bobby proudly served his country as a United States Vietnam Veteran, demonstrating the courage and valor that would define much of his life's journey. His passion for working with his hands led him to a successful career as an auto diesel mechanic and machinist. He later channeled his interpersonal skills into a fulfilling role as an insurance salesman. Bobby's work ethic and commitment to service were only matched by his devotion to his faith and community.

A man of deep Christian faith, Bobby was a devoted follower of Christ, living out the teachings of Jesus in his everyday actions. He was a pillar in his church, often leading by example through his unwavering commitment to his beliefs. His faith was the cornerstone of his existence, guiding him through life's trials and triumphs.

Described by those who knew him as loving, generous, and passionate, Bobby's zest for life was contagious. He approached every day with a heart full of grace and hands ready to serve. His smile was a source of comfort, and his laughter a reminder of the joy that can be found in the simple pleasures of life.

Bobby's journey on earth has concluded, but the memories he created and the love he shared will forever be etched in the hearts of those he touched. We rejoice in the assurance that he has found eternal peace and rest in the arms of our Savior. Bobby's life was a blessing to us all, and his memory will be cherished until we meet again in the presence of our Heavenly Father.
