It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Renee Ybarra, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was born on July 13, 1956, in Walla Walla, Washington to the late Jose C Ybarra and Valentina Sanchez. Renee departed from this life on March 4, 2026, in Edinburg, Texas.
Renee leaves behind his cherished wife of 49 years, Yolanda Tijerina Ybarra , their children Rene Ybarra Jr, Laura Ybarra, and Randy (Rebecca) Ybarra. The legacy he leaves is rich with the laughter and love of his grandchildren - Elijah, Jenica, Isabelle, Daniel, Aaron, Jenessa, Austin, and Dominic. He will also be fondly remembered by his brothers Richard (Sylvia) Ybarra, † Armando (Celia) Ybarra, Roel (Hilda) Ybarra, Rey Ybarra, Homer (Mary) Ybarra, and Herman (Marissa) Ybarra. His devoted dogs, Harley and Zoey, were a constant source of joy and companionship.
His work ethic shone brightly throughout his dedicated 12 years at Exquisita Tortillas and 20 years at Chorizo de San Manuel, where he was not only an employee but a dear friend to many. Renee's commitment to craftsmanship and community was evident in his loyal service and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him.
Family and friends remember Renee as the life of the party, always ready with a joke to make everyone smile. His hobbies were close to his heart, including BBQs with family, racing cars as part of Ybarra Racing, and cheering on the Mavericks football team. Renee also found joy and freedom on the back of his motorcycle, cruising with his brothers on their many adventures. His love for his grandchildren was unmatched, and he took immense pride in every moment spent with them.
Renee is proceeded in death by his parents, Jose and Valentina Ybarra, and his brother, Armando Ybarra. His loss creates a void that can never be filled, but his memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts and stories of those who loved him.
Renee's respect for others was unwavering, and his carefree spirit will be dearly missed. As we bid him farewell, we carry forward the warmth and kindness he shared with every person he met. Renee Ybarra will be remembered not just for the life he lived, but for the love he gave so freely and the laughter he brought into our lives.
"I've loved, I've laughed and cried.
I've had my fill, my share of losing.
And now as fears subside I find it all so amusing to think I did all that and may I say, not in a shy way
oh, no, not me...........
I DID IT MY WAY"
