Paula R. Acosta, a beacon of unwavering faith and boundless love, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025, at the age of 87, in Edinburg, Texas. Born on January 15, 1938, Paula's life was a testament to her generous spirit and her commitment to her family and faith.
Paula was the loving matriarch of a large and close-knit family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jose Luis Acosta, her caring parents, Julia Pedraza and Tiburcio Gallegos, and her cherished grandson, Jose Javier Acosta Jr. Her legacy will continue to flourish through her children: Luis Angel, Eduardo, Aaron, Ismael, Jose Javier, Jose Luis Jr, Elizabeth, Cynthia, and Antonia "Tony" Acosta, who will always remember their mother for her endless love and guidance.
A woman of immense devotion, Paula's life was marked by her faith-filled nature. She found solace and strength in reading the Bible, which was a source of constant inspiration and comfort to her. Her commitment to her faith was evident in the countless hours she volunteered at her local church, where she was a pillar of the community and an embodiment of Christian virtues.
Paula's generosity knew no bounds. She was the type of person who would give without expecting anything in return, touching the lives of many with her kindness. Her ability to love unconditionally was a gift to all who knew her, and her presence was a warm embrace in times of need.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:30 pm at Rivera Hillcrest Funerals and Cremations,1300 N. I-69C in Edinburg. Funeral services will be Friday, January 24, 2025 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at 11:00 am at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
