Oralia "Ory" Rodriguez

We come together today to honor and celebrate the life of Oralia "Ory" Rodriguez, a cherished member of the Edinburg community, who passed away peacefully on October 26, 2024, at the age of 78. She remained a lifelong resident of this vibrant city, touching the lives of many with her loving spirit, wise counsel, and creative flair.

Ory was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Sabino and Felicitas Sifuentes; her siblings; and her dear son, Luciano Padilla Jr. Her legacy continues through her loving children: Cynthia A. Hernandez (married to Israel), Esteban Padilla, and Norma Linda Mercado. She was a proud grandmother to 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and fulfillment to her life.

Ory was a woman of many talents, having pursued a career that reflected her diverse interests and skills. Beyond her professional endeavors, Ory had a passion for the arts and nature. She found solace and pleasure in sewing, tending to her plants, and refurbishing furniture—each piece she touched seemed to tell a story of its own. Her hands were rarely still, as she was always creating something beautiful for her family to cherish.

Ory's wisdom will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her teachings and the love she shared will continue to resonate within the hearts of her family and the numerous lives she touched.

As we bid farewell to Oralia Rodriguez, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, marked by the love she gave and the beauty she created. Her memory will be treasured and honored, a testament to a life well-lived and a woman dearly loved.

As we stand here today, let us remember Oralia "Ory" Rodriguez as the matriarch who guided us with gentle hands and a steadfast heart. Let us carry her memory in the way we love, create, and share wisdom with one another. Though her physical presence has left us, her spirit remains an indelible part of the tapestry of our lives.

A gathering of family and friends will take place Monday, October 28, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 PM with a memorial service at 7:00 pm at Rivera Hillcrest Funerals and Cremation, 1300 N. I 69-C Edinburg, Tx. Funeral and burial will be Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Val Verde Memorial Gardens cemetery in Donna,Texas.
