Olivia G. Salinas

Olivia G. Salinas, known affectionately as "Live" to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2024, at the age of 80, in her hometown of Edinburg, Texas. Born on March 24, 1944, to Venustiano and Sara Garcia, 

Olivia is survived by her husband, Leandro "Lalo" C. Salinas, and their cherished children with their spouses; Norma and her husband Raul De La Rosa, Oscar Salinas, Eva and her husband Ralph Silva, and Alma and her husband Esteban Martinez. Her role as a sister to Consuelo Rios and Connie Trevino was one she held dear, and her legacy continued to blossom with her nine grandchildren, Ginnie Salinas, Ralph "L.R." Silva, Jason Salinas, Rallie De La Rosa, Noe De La Rosa, Sarah Gonzalez, Phillip De La Rosa, Brenda Martinez and Karyna Salinas, as well as her ten great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy and laughter into her life.

She was an avid reader, especially detective stories, always eager to unravel the mysteries between the pages. Her love for sewing was not only a hobby but a way of expressing her creativity and care, especially to her grandchildren. She also loved a game of Bingo and Poker. Olivia always welcomed to have Family Gatherings at her home.

Olivia's presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was preceded in death by her loving parents and her seven siblings, whose memories she held close to her heart throughout her life. Her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit will continue to inspire her family and friends.

As we say goodbye to Olivia G. Salinas, we celebrate a life lived. Olivia's memory will be cherished and her stories retold with smiles and warmth. 

Rest in peace, dear Mom. your memory will be treasured forever. Always in our hearts, Till we meet again!!

Visitation will take place Friday, July 26, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with the Holy Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 pm at Rivera at Hillcrest Funerals and Cremations of Edinburg. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Memory of Olivia on Saturday July 27, 2024 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg.
