Nancy Wilson Obituary

Nancy Mendoza Wilson, a beacon of joy and love, left this world on August 16, 2025, at the age of 69, surrounded by her cherished memories and narratives of a life well-lived in her hometown of Edinburg, Texas. Born on January 22, 1956, in the very same town, Nancy graced those around her with her infectious laughter and an adventurous spirit that knew no bounds.

Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late Juan Mendoza and Petra Arce Mendoza. Her beloved daughter- Christine Elizabeth Zavala has predeceased her and her life story cannot be told without a fond remembrance of her siblings, Ernesto Mendoza, Irma Nora Mendoza, and Ricardo Mendoza, who predeceased her and whom she now joins in peace. Her legacy continues through her loving family, her daughter Tanya Rose Garza, who was the light of her life alongside her granddaughter Samantha Lynee Zavala and her adored great-granddaughter Christine A. Fontana.

The Mendoza family tree stands strong as Nancy leaves behind her siblings Juan Mendoza Jr., Jesus Mendoza, Salome Mendoza, Cristelo Mendoza, Omar Mendoza, Maria Elena Gomez, Anita Carreon, and Luciana Leticia Mendoza. Each of them weaves a tapestry of shared memories, filled with anecdotes of Nancy's love, humor, and adventures that will be treasured for generations to come.

Nancy was a woman whose zest for life was evident in her many passions. Her love for dancing was palpable, often being the first to hit the dance floor during family gatherings, where she also enjoyed having drinks, sharing stories, and filling the air with laughter. A culinary enthusiast, Nancy was renowned for her deviled eggs, which were a staple at every family event, eagerly anticipated by both the young and the old. Her greatest satisfaction came from seeing her family relish the dishes she prepared with such care and love.

More than her hobbies, Nancy's character was defined by her loving nature, her quick-witted humor, and her boldness in embracing new experiences. These traits made her an indispensable part of her family and community. She had a unique way of making each person feel special, heard, and loved. Nancy's presence was a comfort and her guidance a treasure that her family will sorely miss.

As the curtains close on her vibrant story, Nancy Mendoza Wilson's memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched. She was a woman of warmth and mirth, always generous with her heart and always ready for another adventure. Nancy's love story with life may have come to an end, but her influence will echo through the lives of her family, leaving a legacy of laughter, love, and fond remembrances.

A final goodbye to Nancy will be held in Edinburg, where friends and family will gather to pay their respects, celebrate her life, and bid her a heartfelt adieu. There, amidst the tales and the tears, Nancy's story will be remembered and recounted with love, as she embarks on her grandest adventure of all.
