Martin Canizales, born on July 19, 1968, in Mexico, passed away on May 27, 2026, in McAllen, Texas. He was 57 years old.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Catarino Canizales and Maria Petra Candia. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Guadalupe “Lupita” Canizales, Juana Canizales, Sergio Canizales, and Catrino Canizales. who are now reunited in eternal rest.
Martin was a resident of Alamo, Texas
He found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life, especially when surrounded by family and friends. His presence brought comfort and laughter to those around him, and his memory will continue to be a source of strength for his loved ones.
Martin enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and he especially valued gatherings. He loved to cook, and he took pride in preparing food for those he cared about. He also enjoyed going fishing, where he found peace and relaxation, as well as time to reflect and appreciate the world around him. He liked drinking beer and listening to music, pastimes that brought him happiness and helped create many fond memories with those closest to him.
Martin is survived by his children, Clarissa Canizales and Ismael Joel Canizales, who were among the greatest joys of his life. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Linda De La Cruz, and by his siblings, Mario, Ramiro, Luis Alberto, and Carmen. His family will remember him for his love, and the many ways he showed his care through both words and actions.
His love for music, fishing, and time spent with loved ones reflected a life lived with appreciation for both joy and togetherness.
May he rest in peace, and may those who loved him find comfort in the many beautiful memories he leaves behind.
Visitation will be held Saturday May 29, 2026 at Rivera Hillcrest Funeral Home from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the Rosary being prayed at 6: 30 PM.
Services will conclude after the rosary.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Catarino Canizales y Maria Petra Candia. También le precedieron en la muerte sus hermanos, Guadalupe “Lupita” Canizales, Juana Canizales, Sergio Canizales y Catrino Canizales, quienes ahora se encuentran reunidos en el descanso eterno.
Martin fue residente de Alamo, Texas.
Encontraba alegría en los momentos simples y significativos de la vida, especialmente cuando estaba rodeado de familiares y amigos. Su presencia brindaba consuelo y alegría a quienes lo rodeaban, y su recuerdo continuará siendo una fuente de fortaleza para sus seres queridos.
Martin disfrutaba pasar tiempo con su familia y amigos, y valoraba especialmente las reuniones familiares. Le encantaba cocinar y se sentía orgulloso de preparar comida para las personas que apreciaba. También disfrutaba ir de pesca, donde encontraba paz y tranquilidad, además de tiempo para reflexionar y apreciar el mundo a su alrededor. Le gustaba tomar cerveza y escuchar música, pasatiempos que le brindaban felicidad y ayudaron a crear muchos recuerdos inolvidables con quienes más quería.
A Martin le sobreviven sus hijos, Clarissa Canizales e Ismael Joel Canizales, quienes fueron unas de las mayores alegrías de su vida. También le sobreviven la madre de sus hijos, Linda De La Cruz, así como sus hermanos Mario, Ramiro, Luis Alberto y Carmen. Su familia lo recordará por su amor y por las muchas maneras en que demostraba su cariño tanto con palabras como con acciones.
Su amor por la música, la pesca y el tiempo compartido con sus seres queridos reflejaba una vida vivida con aprecio por la alegría y la unión familiar.
Que descanse en paz, y que quienes lo amaron encuentren consuelo en los muchos y hermosos recuerdos que deja atrás.
La visitación se llevará a cabo el sábado 29 de mayo de 2026 en Rivera Hillcrest Funeral Home de 4:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m., con el Santo Rosario rezado a las 6:30 p.m. Los servicios concluirán después del rosario.
