Maria De Los Angeles Hernandez

Maria De Los Angeles Yanez Hernandez, passed away on July 3, 2026, in Edinburg, Texas, at the age of 85.

Born on November 1, 1940, in Mexico, Maria carried with her throughout her life the values of family, kindness, and resilience. She was a loving, gentle, and spirited woman whose presence brought warmth and comfort to those around her. Maria lived life to its fullest and embraced each day with grace, strength, and devotion to the people she loved most.

Maria found great joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. She especially enjoyed cooking, and her kitchen was often a place where love was shared through meals prepared with care. She cherished spending time with her children and treasured family gatherings, where laughter, conversation, and togetherness filled the room. Above all, she held a deep and lasting love for her grandchildren, and she valued every moment spent with them. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her heart into nurturing those bonds.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Romualdo Hernandez; her son, Genaro Hernandez; and Elazar Hernandez. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.

Maria is survived by her beloved children, Romualdo Hernandez Jr. and his wife Gloria, Hugo Hernandez and his wife Isela, and Eliazar Hernandez and his wife Amanda. She is also survived by her siblings, Homero Yanez, Esperanza Yanez, Hermelinda Yanez, and Irma Yolanda Yanez. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Analee, Michelle, Hugo Jr., Lori, Bryan, Annalisa, Denise, Joel, Anissa, Genaro Jr., Riley, Eliazar Jr., and Charlien, as well as her great-grandchildren, Jayla, Jaylen, Adrian, Alexandra, Adeline, and Nicolas.

Maria will be remembered for her loving heart, her gentle spirit, and the strength she carried with quiet dignity. She touched the lives of many through her kindness, her devotion to family, and the example she set through a life well lived. Her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew and loved her.

Though she will be deeply missed, Maria’s legacy of love, family, and cherished memories will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 09, 2026 at Rivera at Hillcrest Funerals and Cremations, 1300 N. I69-C Frontage Rd in Edinburg from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be Friday, July 10, 2026 at 9:00 am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg.
