Maria E. Rodriguez, a spirited and loving soul, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025, at the age of 79 in Houston, Texas. Born on September 22, 1945, in Paris, Texas, Maria was a beacon of light and warmth to everyone she encountered.

Maria's life was marked by her unwavering love for her family and the joy she found in the simple pleasures of life. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Rogelio Rodriguez, who shared her passion for life and love for their family. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Rogelio Rodriguez Jr. and Criselda Rodriguez, who will continue to honor her legacy. Maria was a cherished grandmother to Stephen Noah Cantu, whose achievements and adventures brought her immense pride and happiness.

The daughter of the late Alberto and Angelita Lopez, Maria carried the values of her parents in her heart throughout her life. She was a devoted sister to Juanita Ezparza and Adela Lopez, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond and countless precious memories.

Maria's garden was her pride and joy, a testament to her thoughtful nature and the care she poured into every aspect of her life. Friends and family will remember the beauty of her blooms and the love with which she tended to her plants, a reflection of how she nurtured her relationships.

Visitation will be Thursday, April , 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Rivera Hillcrest Funerals and Cremations,1300 N. I-69C Edinburg. Funeral service will be celebrated the same day at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at RGV State Veteran Cemetery in Mission.
