Maria De La Rosa Cabello

Beloved brothers and sisters, today we gather not in grief, but in profound gratitude for the life of a true servant of the Lord, Maria De La Rosa Cabello, affectionately known to us all as Rosita. Born on November 25, 1945, Rosita was a beacon of light in this world until the Lord called her home on May 15, 2024. Her courage was a source of strength for all, a testament to her unwavering trust in the Almighty.

As the devoted pastor of Iglesia Roca De Salvación, she shepherded her flock with a gentle hand and a firm belief in the power of prayer. Her spirit resonated with the words of the Apostle Paul, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13). This scripture was not just a verse to Rosita; it was the very essence of her being, the core of her life's work.

Her beloved husband, Nicolas S. Cabello, stood by her side in steadfast support, sharing in the joys and trials of a life. Together, they nurtured a family that reflected Rosita's heart—her daughter, Alma A. Rodriguez, who inherited her mother's grace and strength; her granddaughter, Katelyn L. Galvan, who sparkled with Rosita's joy; and her grandson, Khristian I. Galvan, who carries forward her legacy of courage. They all received the full measure of her love and attention, as she imparted to them the importance of faith, love, and family, wisdom and laughter in equal measure. 

Preceded in death by her parents Rafael and Arcadia Gonzalez, and her sister Juany Gonzalez, we take solace in knowing that Rosita is now reunited with them in the Kingdom of Heaven. Her spirit is carried on by her loving siblings Guadalupe, Isidra, Maria Cristina, Rosalio, and Bernabe Gonzalez.

Rosita's interests were an extension of her love for the Creator. She found peace in her garden, tending to the flowers and plants with the same patience and care she offered to her congregation. Her voice, lifted in song during worship, was a vessel for the Holy Spirit, touching souls and drawing them closer to the Lord.

To describe Rosita as simply faith-filled, loving, and courageous would be to capture just a glimpse of the woman she was. Her impact reached far beyond the walls of the church; it was felt in the quiet moments of prayer with those in need, in the inspiration she provided to all who sought a deeper connection with God, and in the love she lavishly poured out on her family and community.

Today, we bid farewell to a precious child of God, but we do so with hearts full of hope, for we know that Rosita De La Rosa Cabello has found her everlasting peace in the arms of our Savior. She has fought the good fight, she has finished the race, she has kept the faith, and now a crown of righteousness awaits her (2 Timothy 4:7-8).

Let us go forth with the assurance that Rosita's legacy will endure, not just in the memories we hold dear, but in the love that continues to grow from the seeds she planted in each of us. May we honor her memory by living with the same bold faith and boundless love that she so graciously shared. She was a living example of the love of Christ, and her memory will forever be a blessing to us all. Amen.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Rivera at Hillcrest Funerals and Cremations 1300 N I-69C Edinburg, Texas. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Iglesia Roca de Salvacion 505 E. Chavez St. Edinburg, Texas. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.

Amados hermanos y hermanas, hoy nos reunimos no con dolor, sino con profunda gratitud por la vida de una verdadera sierva del Señor, María De La Rosa Cabello, afectuosamente conocida por todos nosotros como Rosita. Nacida el 25 de noviembre de 1945, Rosita fue un faro de luz en este mundo hasta que el Señor la llamó a casa el 15 de mayo de 2024. Su valentía fue una fuente de fortaleza para todos, un testimonio de su confianza inquebrantable en el Todopoderoso.

Como devota pastora de la Iglesia Roca De Salvación, pastoreó a su rebaño con mano gentil y una firme creencia en el poder de la oración. Su espíritu resonaba con las palabras del apóstol Pablo: "Todo lo puedo en Cristo que me fortalece" (Filipenses 4:13). Esta escritura no fue sólo un verso para Rosita; era la esencia misma de su ser, el núcleo del trabajo de su vida.

Su amado esposo, Nicolás S. Cabello, estuvo a su lado apoyándola firmemente, compartiendo las alegrías y las pruebas de una vida. Juntos, criaron una familia que reflejaba el corazón de Rosita: su hija, Alma A. Rodríguez, quien heredó la gracia y la fuerza de su madre; su nieta, Katelyn L. Galván, quien brillaba con la alegría de Rosita; y su nieto, Khristian I. Galván, quien lleva adelante su legado de valentía. Todos recibieron toda su amor y atención, mientras ella les impartía la importancia de la fe, el amor y la familia, la sabiduría y la risa en igual medida.

Precedidos en la muerte por sus padres Rafael y Arcadia González, y su hermana Juany González, nos consuela saber que Rosita ahora se ha reunido con ellos en el Reino de los Cielos. Su espíritu lo continúan sus queridos hermanos Guadalupe, Isidra, María Cristina, Rosalio y Bernabé González.

Los intereses de Rosita eran una extensión de su amor por el Creador. Encontró paz en su jardín, cuidando las flores y plantas con la misma paciencia y cuidado que ofrecía a su congregación. Su voz, elevada en canto durante la adoración, era un recipiente para el Espíritu Santo, que tocaba las almas y las acercaba al Señor.

Describir a Rosita simplemente como llena de fe, amorosa y valiente sería captar sólo un vistazo de la mujer que era. Su impacto llegó mucho más allá de los muros de la iglesia; se sintió en los momentos tranquilos de oración con los necesitados, en la inspiración que brindó a todos los que buscaban una conexión más profunda con Dios y en el amor que derramó profusamente sobre su familia y su comunidad.

Hoy nos despedimos de una preciosa hija de Dios, pero lo hacemos con el corazón lleno de esperanza, porque sabemos que Rosita De La Rosa Cabello ha encontrado su paz eterna en los brazos de nuestro Salvador. Ha peleado la buena batalla, ha terminado la carrera, ha guardado la fe y ahora le espera la corona de justicia (2 Timoteo 4:7-8).

Sigamos adelante con la seguridad de que el legado de Rosita perdurará, no sólo en los recuerdos que apreciamos, sino en el amor que continúa creciendo a partir de las semillas que ella plantó en cada uno de nosotros. Que podamos honrar su memoria viviendo con la misma fe audaz y el mismo amor ilimitado que ella tan amablemente compartió. Ella fue un ejemplo vivo del amor de Cristo, y su memoria será para siempre una bendición para todos nosotros.

El velorio será a las 3 p.m. a 9 p.m. con un horario de 7 p.m. Servicio de oración, domingo 19 de mayo de 2024 en Rivera en Hillcrest Funerals and Cremations 1300 N I-69C Edinburg, Texas. El funeral será a las 10 a. m. el lunes 20 de mayo de 2024 en la Iglesia Roca de Salvación 505 E. Chavez St. Edinburg, Texas. Seguirá el entierro en Hillcrest Memorial Park en Edinburg.
