In Loving Memory of Lupe Rios
February 27, 1941 – July 4, 2026
With grateful hearts, we celebrate the life of Guadalupe "Lupe" Rios, who passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, at the age of 85. Lupe will be remembered for his unwavering love, his strong work ethic, meaningful friendships, and lasting connections he built throughout his life. His legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by Onesimo Rios; Robert Barrett; Eusebia “Cheba” Rios Rodriguez; his mother, Nicolasa Rios Ochoa; Nicolas Ochoa; and his father, Guadalupe Rios.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Armandina Rios; his sons, James Edward Rios and Michael Rios ( Annabelle ); his cherished grandchildren, James Edward, Deziree Carlize, and Dylan Michael; Carla Rios, the mother of two of his grandchildren; his sister, Hermencia Barrett; his brothers, Ignacio (Virginia) Rios and Cecilo "Chilo" (Amelia) Rios; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews who will always remember his warmth, guidance, and love.
Lupe devoted more than 60 years to the automotive industry, proudly serving at Roberts Chevrolet, Clark Chevrolet, and Bert Ogden. His commitment, loyalty, and professionalism earned him the respect of coworkers, customers, and friends alike. He took great pride in his work and was known for his dependable nature and kind spirit.
Lupe especially enjoyed traveling to San Antonio to visit the Barrett family, creating treasured memories during those visits. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or simply enjoying each other's company, he valued every opportunity to be with the people he loved.
Lupe will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. His strength, generous heart, and unwavering love for his family will remain an enduring source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a blessing at 6:00 p.m. and a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Rivera at Hillcrest Funerals and Cremations.
Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on through the family he loved so dearly and the countless lives he touched throughout his lifetime.
May he rest in eternal peace.
