Leandro "Lalo" C. Salinas, a treasured soul whose laughter and kindness touched the hearts of everyone he met, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024, in his hometown of Edinburg, Texas. Born on July 17, 1943, in the same close-knit community, Leandro’s life was a testament to the joy and love he cultivated throughout his 81 years.
Mr. Salinas was preceded in death by his wife, Olivia Salinas; eight brothers, Genaro Salinas, Donato C. (Francisca) Salinas, Albino (Ernestina) Salinas, Epimenio Salinas, Domingo Salinas, Juan Salinas, Rodolfo Salinas and Genaro Salinas; three sisters, Francisca (Jacinto) Salinas Suarez, Roma (Antonio) Salinas Ortega and Bernarda (Mariano) Salinas Garza; brother-in-law, Arturo Castro; sister-in-law, Esperanza Salinas.
Leandro had a passion for sports especially baseball. He was a fan of the Astros, Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs. Leando's love for sports was only matched by his love for his family, with whom he cherished spending time,and creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Leandro is survived by his cherished children with their spouses; Norma and her husband Raul De La Rosa, Oscar Salinas, Eva and her husband Ralph Silva, and Alma and her husband Esteban Martinez. His legacy will continue to blossom with his nine grandchildren, Ginnie Salinas, Ralph "L.R." Silva, Jason Salinas, Rallie De La Rosa, Noe De La Rosa, Sarah Gonzalez, Phillip De La Rosa, Brenda Martinez and Karyna Salinas, as well as his ten great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy and laughter into his life. He is also survived by one sister, Guadalupe Salinas Castro; two brothers, Arturo Salinas and Alfredo Salinas.
Visitation from 4 p.m. 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Rivera at Hillcrest Funerals and Cremations 1300 N I-69C Edinburg, Texas. Funeral mass will be at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
