Juanita Lopez, a beacon of love and resilience, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024, at the age of 92 in Alamo, Texas. Born on March 6, 1932, in Edroy, Texas, to the late Constantino and Carolina Lopez, Juanita's life was a testament to her enduring spirit and the deep bonds of family.
Juanita's journey began in the tight-knit community of Edroy, where she was raised with a strong sense of family values and an unwavering work ethic. Her life was a rich tapestry woven with love, as she was a devoted wife to her late husband, Elias Ramos, and a nurturing mother to her children. Although she experienced the profound loss of her parents, her husband, her brother Eliseo, her sons Efrain and Ezequiel, and her grandson Julio Cesar, Juanita's strength and courage never wavered.
Juanita's legacy continues through her surviving children, Yolanda (Ruben) Zamorano of Donna, Alberto (Sofia) Lopez of Magnolia, and Dalia (Joe) Salas of Edinburg. She was a cherished grandmother to 17 grandchildren, a doting great-grandmother to 23, and a beloved great-great-grandmother to 4. Her siblings, Agustina (Exiquio) Trevino, Diana Olga (Osvaldo) Buentello, and Humberto (Juany) Buentello, will hold dear the memories of their sister who shone with the light of compassion and kindness.
Juanita's passion for life was evident in her hobbies. She found solace and joy in the tranquility of her garden, the challenge of a crossword puzzle, and the excitement of a bingo game. These simple pleasures were the backdrop to a life filled with laughter, wisdom, and an abundance of love.
Those who knew Juanita will remember her as a loving, courageous, and selfless woman. She had the remarkable ability to face life's challenges with grace and to provide comfort and support to those around her. Her unwavering love for her family was the cornerstone of her existence, and her presence was a gift that enriched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As we bid farewell to Juanita Lopez, we celebrate a life that was filled with purpose, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to her loved ones. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, just as the stars continue to shine even after they have faded from view. Juanita's story is not one of an ending, but a beautiful legacy that will continue to blossom in the lives of her family and friends.
A private ceremony will be held by the family to honor Juanita's remarkable life. Her final resting place will be at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery, where she will be watched over by the angels she so closely resembled in life.
May we all aspire to live with the same grace and kindness that Juanita Lopez embodied. Her journey on this earth may have concluded, but the light she cast upon the world will never dim. Rest in peace, dear Juanita, and know that your love lives on.
