Jose "Pepe" De La Rosa, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2025, in Edinburg, Texas. Born on July 23, 1946, in San Carlos, Texas, to Juan De La Rosa and Manuela G. De La Rosa, Pepe's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and family.
Pepe's journey began in the small town of San Carlos, where he grew up surrounded by the warmth of a large, loving family. His parents, Juan and Manuela, predeceased him but instilled in Pepe the values of generosity, selflessness, and love that would define his character. His siblings, six in number, shared in the joys and challenges of life alongside him, and together they forged an unbreakable bond.
In the company of his beloved wife, Rufina De La Rosa, Pepe built a life rich in laughter and shared moments. Their love was a beacon that guided them through the years, and together they raised a family that mirrored their commitment to each other. Their children—Norma (Jesse) Saldana, Diana De La Rosa, Juan Jose De La Rosa, Omar (Fameliza) De La Rosa, San Juanita De La Rosa, and Pedro De La Rosa—were Pepe's pride and joy. He was a guiding light in their lives, always ready with a word of encouragement or a helping hand.
Pepe's legacy extends to his 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, who were the apple of his eye. Though one grandchild preceded him in passing, the love and lessons he shared will continue to resonate through the generations.
A man of the road, Pepe found his calling as a truck driver, a career that allowed him to explore the highways and byways, all while providing for his family. His love for the open road was only matched by his love for his family and friends. Pepe's presence was a source of comfort and joy to all who knew him, and his absence will be deeply felt.
His life was marked by a spirit of giving and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones. Pepe was the kind of man who would drop everything to lend a hand, and his selfless nature was evident in every aspect of his life. His home was a gathering place, where family and friends came together to celebrate, share stories, and create memories that would last a lifetime.
Those who knew Pepe will remember him as a generous soul, always ready to share whatever he had. His love was unconditional, his support unwavering. He was the embodiment of a loving patriarch, and his influence will be felt for years to come.
As we say goodbye to Jose "Pepe" De La Rosa, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched. Though he may no longer be with us in person, his legacy of love, generosity, and selflessness endures. We celebrate his life, honor his memory, and hold tight to the moments that remind us of the extraordinary man he was.
Pepe's life was a journey filled with joy, challenges, and triumphs. As we reflect on his time with us, we are grateful for the love he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the example he set. His was a life well-lived, and he will be missed more than words can express.
Farewell, Pepe. You have left us with full hearts and cherished memories. Your journey on the road may have ended, but the path you paved with love continues on. Rest in peace, dear husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Your story lives on in all of us.
