Jesus Cantu Garza

Jesus Cantu Garza, born on September 29, 1945, entered eternal rest on April 30, 2026, at the age of 80.

He was born to the late Porfirio Garza and Clara Cantu. Jesus was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished great-grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his beloved spouse, Adela G. Garza; his children, Clara Lisa Flores (Eleazar Charlie Flores III), Jesus Garza Jr. (Mary), Rico Garza, and Cain Garza (Elizabeth). He is also survived by his siblings, Zulema Schorr, Porfirio Garza Jr., Ernesto Garza, and Armando Garza. 

Jesus leaves behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren: Clarissa Lysette Flores, Jacob Saul Flores (Mikayla), Eleazar Charlie Flores IV ( Faith), John Paul Flores, Michael Gabriel Flores, Nastasha Garza, Urban Gordan Garza,  Ella Piper Garza, Cain Benjamin Garza, and Nolan Cain Garza. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Kellan Javier Flores, Ashtyn Claire Flores, Adelyn Rae Flores, Adela Rose Flores,  and Kolbe Joseph Flores, Ruby Grace Flores.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Porfirio Garza and Clara Cantu; his siblings, Simon Garza and Irma Garza Pratt; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jesus found great joy in life through his passions. He enjoyed buying, restoring, and fixing tractors, spending time white dove hunting, traveling, and most of all, watching his grandchildren participate in their sporting events. His hardworking spirit and love for his family will forever be remembered.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Rivera at Hillcrest Funerals and Cremations in Edinburg, Texas, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg, Texas. Interment will follow at 11:00am at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg, Texas.

His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who were blessed to know him.
