Inocente M. Vasquez Obituary

Inocente Manuel Vasquez, born on April 18, 1938, to Inocente H. Vasquez and Julia G. Vasquez, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026.

Inocente was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who lived a life grounded in faith, love, and service to others. He is survived by his beloved wife, Petra Esther Garcia Vasquez; his children, Inocente Manuel Vasquez (Esperanza) and Sandra Ocañas; and his cherished grandchildren, Benjamin A. Vasquez, Annette Vasquez, Amanda Vasquez, Laura C. Ocañas (Berry Rakdham), and Sarah I. Garcia (Jesse Aguilar).

He is preceded in death by his parents, Inocente H. Vasquez and Julia G. Vasquez; his children, Graciela Vasquez and Ricardo Vasquez (Laura); and his siblings, Alfonso Vasquez, Pedro Vasquez, Vicente Vasquez, Aurelia Mata, and Consuelo Monrreal.

A proud graduate of Edinburg High School, Class of 1957, Inocente distinguished himself as a member of the National Honor Society and the school choir. He was especially known for his beautiful voice, which he used to sing for the honor and glory of God.

Inocente carried with him the values instilled by his parents throughout his life. He was a proud patriot who loved God, his family, and his country. His faith was central to who he was, and he found great joy in sharing the word of God with everyone he met.

Inocente dedicated over 40 years of his life working as a meat cutter, a profession he took great pride in. He was known for his strong work ethic, his commitment to providing for his family, and his willingness to help others. He always looked out for the well-being of those around him, embodying kindness, generosity, and compassion.

He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—watching action movies and classic westerns, keeping up with world events, enjoying good food, and spending time with his loved ones. He especially cherished working out with his brothers and creating lasting memories filled with laughter. As a husband, he was loving and supportive, and there was never a dull moment when he was around.

Inocente will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his deep love for his family, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him. His legacy of strength, kindness, and devotion will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
