Gloria Margarita Cisneros, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, in McAllen, Texas, at the age of 51. Born on August 4, 1973, in Monterrey, NL, Mexico, Gloria was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother whose warmth and friendly spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
Gloria was the beloved daughter of Gerardo and Rosa Portal and grew up surrounded by the affection of her brothers, Luis G. Portal and Victor Portal. Her life was a testament to the power of family, and she dedicated herself to nurturing and raising her three daughters, Gloria Y. Cisneros, Carolina A. Cisneros, and Viviana T. Cisneros, with the same love and care she received as a child. Gloria's joy multiplied with the arrival of her grandchildren, Maddison P. Garza, Montserrat A. Garza, Emily R. Ozuna, and Ezra J. Garza, who became the apples of her eye.
Gloria's sister-in-law, Guadalupe I. Portal, and sons-in-law, Edgar A. Garza and Matthew N. Ozuna, were also integral parts of her life. She embraced them with open arms, and her home was always a place of gathering, laughter, and endless memories.
As a stay-at-home mother, Gloria poured her heart into her home and family, creating an environment filled with love and creativity. Her passion for baking was renowned, and she often delighted family and friends with her delicious pastries and cakes. Gloria's artistic flair shone through in her arts and crafts, which not only brought beauty into her home but also became cherished gifts for those she loved.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 PM with the recital of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm at Rivera Hillcrest Funerals and Cremations,1300 N. I-69C in Edinburg. Funeral services will be Friday, January 10, 2025 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at 12:00 pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
