Gilbert Santos Obituary

Gilbert R Santos a beloved husband,  father, and grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on Wednesday August 6, 2025 surrounded by his family at his residence in McAllen, Tx. He leaves behind a legacy of love and unwavering dedication to all the lives he touched. Gilbert was born on November 9, 1942 in Uvalde, TX to proud parents Mike and Esther Santos.

Gilbert was a loving husband to Sandra Santos and a pillar of strength and support for his family, together they raised two children; Gilbert and Belinda. He was a devoted father, always there to offer guidance and love. He developed a strong work ethic and a deep love for his family. He went on to pursue a career in produce along side his brother Roy Santos+, to which he dedicated himself for 50 plus years. He has been a source of joy and love, teaching his loved ones the values of family that will shape their paths forever. His dedication to his loved ones is unparalleled as he worked tirelessly to ensure they had everything they needed.

Gilbert is preceeded in death by his dear parents Mike and Esther Santos,  siblings: Mike Santos Jr and Roy Ben Santos. He leaves behind a vast and loving family to carry on his memory.  Gilbert is survived by his loving wife Sandra Santos, his children: Gilbert Brady Santos and Belinda Nicole Richardson. Four grandchildren Diego Daniel Santos,  Sarah Isabella Santos,  Liam Thiago Santos, and John Nolan Richardson. His beloved sister,  Dolores Santos Esparza and a nephew who he loved and adored as his own, Miguel Alejandro Santos with numerous nieces and nephews, who will forever cherish his love and guidance.

In our hearts,  Gilbert will forever remain a devoted husband,  loving father,  grandfather, uncle, and a vibrant soul who found joy in spending time with his loved ones.  One of his passions was visiting Las Vegas, gambling, and specifically handicapping and betting on sports. He forever took pride on his appearance and was seldom seen without his starched jeans and boots. He will dearly be missed. His spirit will continue to live on through the memories he created and the love he bestowed upon his family.  May his soul find eternal peace in the embrace of the Lord.

We would also like to express our very heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care provided by Carol and Brenda. They treated Gilbert like he was one of their own beloved family member and for that we will forever be grateful.
