Felipe Barrientes

Felipe Barrientes, passed away on June 6, 2026, in Edinburg, Texas, at the age of 68.

He was born on March 28, 1958, in Caldwell, Idaho, and throughout his life he carried with him the values of faith, family, and devotion that shaped the man he became. Felipe was a true disciple of Yeshua, and his faith was not only a personal conviction but a guiding light in the way he lived, loved, and served those around him. He was known as a loving, faith-filled, and spirited man whose presence brought warmth and strength to his family and friends.

Felipe found great joy in the simple and meaningful blessings of life. He loved spending time with all of his grandchildren, and those moments were among the most treasured of his days. Whether he was sharing stories, offering encouragement, or simply enjoying their company, he made each grandchild feel deeply loved. He also had a special love for animals and found peace in their companionship. Fishing was another favorite pastime, and he enjoyed the quiet and contentment that came with being near the water. Family gatherings were especially dear to him, and he cherished every opportunity to be surrounded by the people he loved most.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Celestino and Guadalupe Barrientes, and by his brother, Celestino Barrientes Jr.
also a granddaughter Danika Salazar. Their memory remained close to his heart throughout his life. Felipe is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Esperanza Enriquez de Barrientes, who stood by his side through the years with love and devotion. He is also survived by his children, Belinda Eckert and her husband Frank, Yadira Salazar and her husband Daniel, Yanet Barrientes, and Emmanuel Barrientes and his wife Amber. His legacy continues through his siblings, Ramona Villarreal, Josie Mendez, Ruben Barrientes, San Juanita Sustaita, Nacho Barrientes, Julio Barrientes, Manuel Barrientes, and Cenaida Barrientes, who shared in the bonds of family and remembrance.

Felipe was a proud and loving grandfather to Yazmin Eckert, Zoe Eckert, Luke Eckert, Ayden Eckert, Selena Salazar, Max Salazar, Danika Salazar +, Destiny Alvarez, Rebekah Alvarez, and Nikolai Martinez. His grandchildren brought him immense joy, and he treasured each one with a grandfather’s deep and steady love. His family will remember him for his kind heart, his strong faith, and the way he made others feel welcomed and cared for.

Those who knew Felipe will remember a man who lived with sincerity and purpose. He was spirited in life, steadfast in faith, and generous in love. His family and friends will carry forward the lessons he taught through his example, including the importance of faith, togetherness, and cherishing every moment with loved ones. Though his earthly journey has ended, the love he gave and the faith he lived by will remain a lasting part of the lives he touched.

Felipe Barrientes will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him. His life was a blessing, and his memory will continue to be a source of comfort, strength, and inspiration to his family for generations to come.
