Esteban Fonseca

Esteban Fonseca, a cherished family man and skilled handyman, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024, in Pharr, Texas, at the age of 79. Born on December 19, 1944, in Mexico, Esteban's life was a testament to his enduring strength and love for his family.

Esteban grew up working in the fields alongside his parents and siblings, an experience that instilled in him a profound work ethic and resourcefulness. Later in life, he became a well-respected handyman, known for his ability to fix anything from cars to appliances and electronics. His hands were rarely still, as he took joy in painting and crafting, creating beauty and function with equal skill.

Above all, Esteban was a family man. He is survived by his loving daughters, Griselda Fonseca and San Juanita (Febronio) Fernandez, and his adored six grandchildren. His legacy also lives on through his siblings: Juan (Ada) Fonseca, Maria (Leonel†) Hernandez, Lupita Fonseca, Aurelia (Narciso†) Sauceda, Cruzita (Salvador) Gutierrez, Felisa Fonseca, and Soledad Fonseca, as well as through his numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved deeply. Esteban is preceded in death by his parents Sebastian and Soledad Fonseca and brother Alfredo Fonseca.

Those who knew Esteban will remember him as a loving, kind, and funny individual. His laughter and warm presence will be deeply missed by all. Esteban's life was a beautiful tapestry of dedication, service, and joy, and his memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Monday, August 25, 2024, at Rivera at Hillcrest Funerals and Cremations 1300 N I-69C Edinburg, Texas. Cremation services will follow at a later date.
