Esperanza "Pera" G. Garcia, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, at the age of 96 in Edinburg, Texas. Born on February 18, 1929, in San Juan, Texas, Pera's life was a tapestry woven with the vibrant threads of devotion, intelligence, and creativity.

Pera was a woman of remarkable spirit and strength, whose loving nature touched the lives of all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Manuel G. Garcia, her parents, her son Ramiro Garcia, and four siblings. Her legacy continues through her children: Hector (Gloria) Garcia, Gilberto (Ofelia) Garcia, Carlos (Rafaela) Garcia, Maria "Rosie" Garcia, Norma (Sergio) Munguia, Jilma (Hijinio) Martinez, Martin (Sylvia) Garcia, and Gloria (Alan) Marshall. Pera's memory will also be cherished by her 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and her sister, Aurora Jimenez.

Pera's life was a testament to her faith-filled heart. She found solace and joy in listening to Christian music, which often filled the rooms of her home with hymns and praise. Her hands were rarely still, as she delighted in crouching, knitting, and sewing, creating beautiful pieces that are treasured by her family.
