David Zarate, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully in Edinburg, Texas on March 25, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on November 21, 1953, in Edcouch, Texas, David's early years were filled with the warmth of a close-knit community and a family that would shape his generous and loving spirit.
David's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the joy of music. His passion for playing the bass, guitar, and singing brought harmony not only to melodies but also to the lives of those around him. His love for music was only matched by his love for his family and the numerous pets and reptiles he cared for with great devotion.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Delia Zarate, with whom he shared a life full of love and laughter. David's legacy continues through his children, David Zarate Jr., and Daniel Zarate, as well as his daughters-in-law, Erendida and Olivia Zarate. David's joy was multiplied by his grandchildren, Delilah Zarate, Yvonne Almanza, Jennifer Iron Cloud, Joshoua Iron Cloud, Jesrael Zarate, Jaaziel Zarate, Jose Zarate, and Maya Zarate, who will carry his memory in their hearts.
David was predeceased by his father, Israel Zarate, his stepmother, Nora Elia Zarate, his aunt, Lidia Uribe, and his brother, Jaime Escamilla. His memory will be cherished by his siblings, Rosa Zarate, Gloria Zarate, Dalia Zarate, Lisa Zarate, Jose Israel Zarate, Ismael Zarate, and Selene Zarate, who will remember him as the cornerstone of their family.
Friends and family knew David as the epitome of friendliness, kindness, and thoughtfulness. His presence was a source of comfort and joy, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. David's capacity to love and his eagerness to help others defined his character and left an indelible mark on his community.
David's life was a beautiful melody composed of moments that celebrated the simple pleasures. His infectious laugh, warm embrace, and the twinkle in his eye when he shared stories will be dearly missed. As we bid farewell to David Zarate, we do so with gratitude for the time we spent with him and the countless memories that will continue to inspire us.
David's journey through life was one of purpose and joy, and though he has left this earthly stage, his song will echo in the hearts of those he touched. We take solace in knowing that David's love will continue to guide us, as his spirit finds peace in the great beyond.
As we honor the remarkable life of David Zarate, we reflect on the beauty he brought into this world and the harmony he created in each relationship. Let us celebrate David's life by living as he did—with love, kindness, and music in our hearts.
