David Perez Obituary

David Devin Perez, known affectionately as Devin to his family and friends, passed away on January 15, 2026, in Weslaco, Texas, at the tender age of 15. Born on January 10, 2011, in Edinburg, Texas, Devin was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him. His warm smile and boundless energy will be profoundly missed by his loving family and the community that cherished him.

Devin's early years were marked by his friendly nature and courageous spirit. As a freshman at Edinburg North High School, he was already demonstrating the intelligence and determination that promised a future full of potential. Devin's interests were as varied as they were passionate. He found joy on the football field and was proud of the moment he scored multiple touchdowns this year , speed on the track, and camaraderie in the school band during his junior high years. A member of the Boy Scouts, Devin embraced the organization's values, living his life with honor and kindness.

Beyond his school activities, Devin was known for his love of karate, which taught him discipline and respect, traits that he carried into every aspect of his life. His talent as a "Locksmith" was a source of pride and amusement for his family, as he enjoyed reading manuals and could often be found tinkering with locks, always eager to learn how things worked. He also enjoyed the outdoors and going to the beach. Taking road trips with his dad in the 18 Wheeler.
Enjoyed learning to use the back hole by his Uncle Javie, Enjoyed four wheeling with his uncle and cousin JT
The Best Big brother and Son!!

Devin's family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his father, David Perez (Cynthy Garcia), and his mother, Denise Diaz. His paternal grandmother, Velma Perez, and maternal grandparents, Yolanda Diaz and Fabian Molina, will hold the memory of their grandson close to their hearts. Devin's siblings; Levi Alijah Diaz, Francisco Ray Perez, and Emily Gonzalez, will forever cherish the times they shared with their brother. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Victor Diaz, and his maternal great-grandparents, Olivia and Rodrigo Montemayor, and Eligio and Juanita Diaz as well as his paternal great-grandmother, Francisca Munoz Perez.

Devin's departure from this world leaves a void that cannot be filled. Yet, those who knew him will continue to be inspired by the way he lived his life to the fullest, with every day a new adventure to be embraced. His legacy will be carried forward in the stories told by his friends and the memories held by his family.

As we say goodbye to Devin, we celebrate a life that, though brief, was lived with a joy and exuberance that many strive for but few truly achieve. Devin's spirit, characterized by his friendliness, courage, and intelligence, will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was a beacon of light in the lives of his loved ones, and his memory will continue to shine brightly, guiding us through the days ahead.
