Concepción Pérez, lovingly known as “Concha,” passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 surrounded by her family. Concepcion was born to Antonio Ornelas and Señorina Esparza on November 8, 1929, she was the mother to eight children—five daughters and three sons—and was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy until the very end.
Concha was the heart of her family, a constant source of love, laughter, and strength. She had a deep appreciation for life’s pleasures—her morning cafecito, pancakes, sweetbread, and her beloved, Princessa. She loved sharing stories, cracking jokes, and being the center of every room she sat in. Never one to sit still, Concha demanded her outings, wore the brightest dresses, and adorned her hair with the boldest accessories. Her vibrant spirit, quick wit, and strong faith defined her. She lived life on her own terms—full of color, full of love, and full of grace. Her warmth and stubborn strength touched everyone she met. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, fierce independence, and unforgettable memories. A special thank you to Dr. Melva Palacios—for being more than just her doctor. You helped restore her health and let her go with all her dignity. You will always be family. We love you. To Isaiah, her great-grandson, who stepped into a caregiving role with honor—your hands that once lifted her can now rest. Your watch is over. Thank you. We will miss her light, her laughter, and her love always. Her spirit lives on in all who knew her. In her honor, we invite you to enjoy a cup of coffee and a concha—just the way she would have wanted.
