Claudia Montelongo Lerma, a beacon of joy and warmth, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 19, 1973, in Mexico, Claudia’s infectious smile and generous spirit were a gift to all who knew her.
Claudia was the cherished daughter of Belinda Lerma Patlan and Juan Pablo Montelongo, who instilled in her the values of love, family, and resilience. She carried these values throughout her life and they shone brightly in everything she did. Claudia was a devoted mother to her children, Mario De la Cruz, Samantha Jaimes, Patricio Rodriguez, Belinda Rodriguez, ShaelaRodriguez, Reymundo Rodriguez, and Angel Teran. Her love for her family extended to her adoring grandchildren, Chantal, Isander, Naomi, Mario, Santiago, Lexie, Leylani, Ciara, Ian, Xiomara, Iliani, and Caleb, who will miss her playful spirit and tender care.
Claudia was a beloved sister to Reymundo Aguilar, Jose Aguilar, and Juan Sanchez. Their bond was one of laughter, support, and enduring companionship. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she nurtured each relationship with dedication and an open heart.
A woman of many talents and passions, Claudia’s love for dancing, singing, and cooking brought joy not only to her but to all who were fortunate enough to experience them with her. Her kitchen was a place of gathering, where the aromas of her delicious dishes would mingle with the sounds of music and laughter. Claudia’s zest for life was contagious, and she had an uncanny ability to turn the mundane into the magical.
Claudia’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and the simple pleasures of life. Her unwavering commitment to her family and the joy she found in her interests will continue to inspire her loved ones for generations to come. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered as a source of light and love in the lives of many.
As we bid farewell to Claudia Montelongo Lerma, we celebrate her life and the countless memories she has left us. Her spirit, a harmonious blend of strength and gentleness, will continue to guide and comfort her family and friends. Claudia’s journey through life was a dance of passion, a song of happiness, and a feast of love, shared generously with all who crossed her path.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Monday, April 29, 2024 at Rivera at Hillcrest Funerals and Cremations 1300 N I-69C Edinburg, Texas. Chapel service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Rivera at Hillcrest Funerals and Cremations in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
