Charlotte Domingo Obituary

Charlotte Lane Domingo, affectionately known to all as Elaine, embarked on her life journey on May 16, 1955, in the historic city of Charleston, South Carolina. On New Year’s Day 2025, Elaine concluded her chapter on earth in the warm community of McAllen, Texas, after a valiant battle with cancer. She was a beacon of strength and a testament to the power of love and faith.
Elaine's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of compassion, service, and unwavering dedication to her family and those in need. Elaine was the devoted wife of Diomedes “Eddie” Domingo; mother of Cristina (Gabriel) and Jonathan (Kimberly); grandmother of Joseph, Nathaniel and Carmelo; sister of JoAnn, Linda and Perry; and cousin of Pam.
Elaine's early years were shaped by the loving guidance of her parents, Charles and Katherine Collins, and her aunt, Zannie, who preceded her in this transition, as well as, sister, Libby and brothers, Larry, Bubba, Jerry and Paul.
With a heart as vast as the ocean, Elaine dedicated herself to causes that echoed her core beliefs—feeding the homeless and participating in the Walk for Life. By fostering numerous children, she extended the branches of her family tree, offering shelter, love, and a glimmer of hope to those in need. Her actions were not merely gestures but life-changing interventions that spoke volumes of her character.
Elaine was deeply rooted in her Christian faith, being a dedicated member of London Bridge Baptist Church in Virginia Beach—her mission was to spread the love of Jesus to all corners of the earth. She lived her beliefs, and her actions were a living sermon of the values she held dear. Her spirit was contagious, her enthusiasm for life boundless, and her capacity to love limitless.
As we reflect on the life of Charlotte Lane Domingo, let us not dwell on the sorrow of her departure but on the joy she brought into the lives of everyone she touched. Elaine's story does not end with her passing; it continues in the lives of those she inspired, in the smiles of the people she helped, and in the love she spread so freely.
Let us honor Elaine's memory by embracing her philosophy: to live with purpose, to serve with heart, and to love without conditions. Her life was a testament to the impact one person can have on the world, and her legacy is a challenge to us all to live up to the example she set.
