Celia Renteria, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2024, at the age of 75, in Edinburg, surrounded by the family who cherished her. Born on August 1, 1949, in Alamo, she was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all. She lived a life characterized by selflessness and an unwavering commitment to her loved ones.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Guadalupe Renteria Sr., and her parents, Lorenzo and Francisca Gallegos, Celia's legacy is carried on through her adoring family. She is survived by her children, Aurora Renteria-White (Darrell White), Guadalupe Renteria Jr. (Leticia Cano), and Arturo Renteria (Janie Olivarez). Her grandchildren, Jose Renteria (Raquel Renteria), Jennifer Renteria, James Penny, Alexis White, Christopher Renteria, Shannon, Priscilla, and Jasmine, along with her ten great-grandchildren, will miss her deeply. Celia was also a cherished sister to her two brothers, Guadalupe and Lorenzo Gallegos, and her sister, Emma Gallegos, who all shared a close-knit bond.
Celia's professional life was marked by a dedicated career from which she retired, leaving behind colleagues who respected and admired her. Beyond her work, she was actively involved in various associations where her presence was a source of inspiration and leadership. She touched many lives with her involvement and commitment to the causes dear to her heart.
Those who knew Celia will remember her as the epitome of love. Her generous spirit knew no bounds, and she gave of herself unconditionally. Celia's selfless nature was apparent in every aspect of her life—from the way she raised her children to the way she interacted with friends and strangers alike. Her home was always open, her table always ready to serve an extra plate, and her advice was both wise and warmly given.
Celia's influence extended beyond her immediate circle, as she had a way of making everyone feel special and loved. Her laughter was infectious, her smile brightened the room, and her kindness left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her.
As we bid farewell to Celia Renteria, we reflect on the gift of her life and the memories she leaves behind. Her spirit of giving and her loving heart will continue to live on through the stories shared by those who loved her and the impact she made on her community. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her presence will forever be felt in the lives of those she touched.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Celia Renteria was a remarkable woman who will be profoundly missed but never forgotten. As we celebrate her life, we are comforted by the knowledge that her legacy of love and generosity will continue to flourish in the generations that follow.
