Carmen R. Perez, a beacon of love and faith in her community, passed away peacefully surrounded by love at windsor Arbor View in Edinburg, Texas, on October 6, 2024. Born on July 16, 1936, in the same warm-hearted city, Carmen's life was a testament to her spirited nature and unwavering commitment to her family and faith.
Carmen was the cherished daughter of Fransisco Ramirez and Isidora Vera. Her life was a rich tapestry woven with the love of her siblings Fransisco Ramirez Jr., Joe Ramirez, Santos Ramirez, Juanita Herrera, Dora Martínez, and Oralia Rivas. She shared an enduring love with her husband of many years, Martin Perez Senior, who, along with her parents and brothers Fransisco Jr. had predeceased her.
Her legacy is carried on through her beloved children. While her sons Oscar Perez and Andres Perez Sr. had passed before her, their memory remains a guiding light for the family. Her living children, Juanita Perez, Amadelia Morales (Robert), Olga Perez (Pedro), Martin Perez Jr., Daniel Perez, and their families, continue to reflect the values she instilled in them.
Carmen's grandchildren were the apples of her eye, and she took immense pride in their achievements and the families they built. She was a cherished grandmother to Vanessa Castillo (Jose), Esiquia Luna (Isreal), Isabel Morales, Jacquelyn Kinsey (Jordan), Sostenes Morales, (Modesto Morales-Treviño )(Joe Treviño-Morales), Juan Javier Morales, Hortencia Alas (Lazaro), Amanda Brown (Kevin), Laura Morales, Roberto D Morales (Daisy), Pedro Perez Jr., Pamela Perez, Paul Perez, Philip Perez (Patricia), Melissa Perez, Oscar Perez Jr., Francisco Perez, Thomas Perez, Sonia Perez, Corina Perez, Andres Perez Jr., Luis Perez, Cindy Martinez (Rigoberto), Vanessa Espinoza (Manuel), and Abigail Mendoza (Raymond). Her joy multiplied with the arrival of each of her 43 great-grandchildren.
Carmen lived a life characterized by her loving nature. Her home was always open, her kitchen always warm, and her guidance always gentle. She led a faith-filled existence, her spirit intertwined with the teachings of her church, which she supported with fervent devotion. Her spirit was infectious, and she inspired those around her to live with zest and joy.
She was a pillar of strength, a confidante, and a friend to all who knew her. Her laughter was a melody that will echo in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
As we bid farewell to Carmen R. Perez, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a journey completed with grace. Her memory will be cherished and her presence sorely missed. Carmen's story does not end with her passing, for her spirit lives on in the multitude of lives she touched.
