Antonio Cantu Jr. (Tony) cherished family man and a beacon of kindness, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, in Edinburg, Texas, at the age of 63. Born on May 5, 1961, in Edinburg, Texas, he was a man who filled the lives of those around him with love, laughter, and thoughtfulness.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents Antonio Cantu Sr. And Agripina Nieto
Tony is survived by his wife Cindy, his children; Antonio Cantu III and Lorena, his step mother Imelda Cantu, Siblings; Daniel Cantu, Irene (Robert) Cantu, Alfredo (Nelly) Cantu, Monica (Joey) Cadena, Veronica (Richard) Diaz, Imelda Christina Cantu, Tanya Cantu, and Adriana Cantu (Stephen Brockman)
Tonys interests were a reflection of his character. An avid fisherman, he found peace and solace by the water, often accompanied by family and friends. His passion for welding was not just a hobby, but a craft he honed with precision and pride. These activities were more than pastimes; they were ways in which he connected with the people he loved, sharing his good-hearted nature and creating lasting memories.
Friends and family will remember Tony for the love he poured into every aspect of his life. His presence was a source of comfort and joy, and his absence will be felt deeply by the numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who looked up to him.
As we bid farewell to Tony Cantu Jr., we celebrate the life of a man who was the embodiment of love and kindness. He was a devoted husband, a caring father, a beloved brother, and a friend to all. His memory will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, March 31, 2025 at Rivera at Hillcrest Funerals and Crematios,1300 N. I-69C from 5-9 pm with a prayer talk at 7:00 pm.
