Antonio Huerta, passed away on June 6, 2026, in Edinburg, Texas, at the age of 29.
Born in McAllen, Texas on September 18, 1996, Antonio lived a life marked by warmth, creativity, and a gift for bringing joy to those around him. He was a funny, loving, and creative person whose presence could brighten a room and whose laughter was often shared freely with family and friends. He will be remembered for the kindness he showed, the energy he brought to everyday moments, and the genuine way he connected with others.
Antonio enjoyed dancing, playing games, listening to music, and spending time with art and drawing. These interests reflected his expressive spirit and his appreciation for the simple pleasures that made life meaningful. Whether he was sharing a laugh, enjoying a favorite song, or creating something with his hands, Antonio found ways to make ordinary moments memorable. He had a special ability to make people laugh, and that gift left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Zayla Janelle, who was a cherished part of his life. He is also survived by his mother, Maximina Gaitan, and his siblings, Humberto Huerta Jr., Alva Nidia Huerta, Brian Huerta, and Jorge Gaitan. His family will remember him with love and gratitude for the time they shared and the memories they will carry forward. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Maria Robledo Gaitan.
Antonio’s life, though far too brief, was filled with love, personality, and moments that will be treasured by those who knew him best. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, affection, and creativity that will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Those who loved him will remember his humor, his caring nature, and the way he made others feel welcome and appreciated.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched. Antonio’s memory will remain a source of comfort and reflection, and his spirit will continue to shine through the many lives he influenced with his love and laughter.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary at 6:00 pm at Rivera Hillcrest Funeral Home,1300 N. I-69C in Edinburg. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park cemetery.
